Adding a quiz block in Compozer is a quick way to make your course more interactive and engaging.
This step-by-step guide walks you through how to insert a quiz, set it up, and configure the settings to suit your learning goals.

Step 1 – Access Course Editing

Open the course you’d like to edit and enter the course editor.

Step 2 – Add a Quiz Block

Click the “Add New” button within your course structure.
From the available options, select “Quiz.”
This will insert a new quiz block into your course.

Step 3 – Customise Title and Description

You can now edit the quiz title, subheading, and description to match your content.
If you’d like, you can also upload or replace the featured image that appears with your quiz.

Step 4 – Adjust Image Position

To change where the image appears, go to the settings panel.
Choose between left, right, or no image depending on how you want the quiz layout to look.

Step 5 – Add Questions

By default, your first question will be multiple choice — but you can edit or delete it.
Compozer supports several question types, including:

  • Multiple Choice

  • Multiple Response

  • Fill in the Blanks

  • Matching

  • Multiple Image Choice

  • Multiple Image Response

  • Ordering

  • True or False

You can mix and match these to create a balanced assessment.

  • Optionally hide the quiz summary if you prefer not to show feedback immediately

Step 7 – Preview and Attempt the Quiz

When you’ve finished setting up, click Preview to see how the quiz will look and behave for learners.
You can take the quiz yourself to confirm the flow and design feel right.

Step 8 – Review Quiz Results

After completing the quiz, you’ll see the results page, which displays:

  • Your score

  • The pass mark

  • Options to retry the quiz or review the questions
