Mastering the Review App in Compozer: Step-by-Step Guide

Hey team,

One of the biggest pain points in course development has always been feedback - messy email threads, vague comments, and screenshots that leave you guessing what slide someone’s even talking about.

That’s why I’m a huge fan of Compozer’s Review feature. It’s not just a nice-to-have… it’s a game-changer for clean collaboration and fast course iteration. If you haven’t used it yet, or just scratched the surface, here’s a full walkthrough to get you up and running like a pro.

Step-by-Step: Using the Review App in Compozer

1. Publish for Review

Inside your course project, click the “Review” button and choose “Publish new version.” This creates a review version of your course that you can share with clients, SMEs, or team members.

2. Invite Reviewers

Once your review version is live, send invites to your reviewers. You can share the link directly, or invite reviewers through the Review app. When you invite someone, they’ll receive an email prompting them to create a free Compozer account. This is required for security purposes… but the process is super simple. They just need to sign up with their email using the link in the invite, and they’ll be taken straight to your course to begin reviewing. No confusion, no hoops. This keeps your content secure and your feedback traceable.

3. Leaving Feedback as a Reviewer

Here’s where it gets good:

  • Reviewers can add comments directly on the course as they go through it.
  • The snippet tool lets them take a precise screenshot of the exact area they’re commenting on. No more “It’s kind of on Slide 5… near the top… I think?”
  • They can also attach files to each comment - images, documents, whatever’s relevant.
  • Threaded comments keep discussions organized and contextual.

4. Managing Comments as the Author

On your end:

  • You’ll get email notifications for every comment (optional, but super helpful if you’re in iteration mode).
  • All comments show up in the centralised Comments panel, grouped by screen and sorted by timestamp.
  • You can reply, resolve, or mark as complete directly from the Review interface.
  • It’s easy to keep track of what’s been done and what’s still pending, all in one place.

5. Collaboration Tips

  • Encourage your reviewers to use the snippet tool… it really cuts down on back-and-forth.
  • Use threaded replies to clarify comments instead of replying via email or chat.

Why It Matters

This tool has completely streamlined how I manage feedback with clients and SMEs. It’s faster, clearer, and honestly… it makes me look more professional. Less guesswork, more action. Compozer’s Review app takes what’s usually the messiest part of development and makes it clean, trackable, and way more productive.

If you’re working with teams or delivering client work, this should absolutely be part of your workflow.

Questions? Tips of your own? Drop them below… would love to hear how you’re using Review in your projects.
